You're a beautiful inspiration dancer Adrianne , full of undisputed courage and (nia) Swahili for a sense of purpose. My daughter who been thru her trials and born to dance and dance she did right out of The Performance Arts High School in NYC into the University because her determination no matter what obstacle presented never swayed the dancer and this is why I feel your strength it will only get better with a spirit like yours butterfly... Peace be into you ... The Dancer
"Once there came to the court of the Prince of Birkasha a dancer with her musicians. And she was admitted to the court, and she danced before the prince to the music the lute and the flute and the zither. She danced the dance of flames, and the dance of swords and spears; she danced the dance of stars and the dance of space. And then she danced the dance of flowers in the wind. After this she stood before the throne of the prince and bowed her body before him. And the prince bade her to come nearer, and he said unto her, “Beautiful woman, daughter of grace and delight, whence comes your art? And how is it that you command all the elements in your rhythms and your rhymes?” And the dancer bowed again before the prince, and she answered, “Mighty and gracious Majesty, I know not the answer to your questionings. Only this I know: The philosopher’s soul dwells in his head, the poet’s soul is in the heart; the singer’s soul lingers about his throat, but the soul of the dancer abides in all her body.” Khalil GibranTuesday, April 30, 2013

The Sabbath (Jewel and Main) by Lepadah
The sun burn down into the resting arms of night
lights off; are clicking on
settling scene Scorsese, De Niro joint
eye of storm succumb
restless youth appear from nowhere
baby vampires snipping dead eyesThe sun burn down into the resting arms of night
lights off; are now on
settling scene Scorsese, De Niro joint
eye of storm is over
restless youth appear from darken dust
anonymous vampires snipping dead eyes listening to musical overtures
save aged stories
re-told, written scripts a new Capote
Owl wise to let the fruited ripen
as the Sabbath evening unfurled its wings
expose and pull to remember one's autumn of life
the Van Gogh "Starry Night" the patina essence of being a teen
Interacted play of Sinatra "The Good Life"
fidora adjust, drawing back convertible top vintage mustang
croon to lovebird's gang up the front of seven-eleven
reminisce real soda shops
now only Eddie's on Metropolitan , the hang spot
by-gone days of malted, floats, splits and egg cream
now just slurpy machine, tacos, hot dogs to go
I a silhouette outlining the amour blackness of knight
a lone lamp emulating dimly lit echoes of "we love you Johnny..."
pyramid whips , cacophony of teenage girls on Main street
Franks blue eye voice fade up under Mustang roar
burn rubber exhaling fumes of machismo
It's passing of Sabbath ...
as I soft shoe ; slow footing into the headlights of the 65
exodus from one awakening to another.
quick step uptown to Bill's Place the birth of black and brown
neo sounds played a different way
snapshots of Sugar Babes that speak easy
to please me with baritone and alto saxophones
brass snakes inurn snoot places to seduce, skip into spaces with erratic off time on purpose perfect syncopation
mending frantic improvisation with voluminous waves rolling through the underbelly of a torture soul
needing satisfaction
manipulating the bleeding life's helix tirades, censure & merciless weeding out blithsome pores
one's mental symbol
to remember . . .
how good ... Autumn of life

The return of Soul Music in Harlem ...
My recent interview with the legendary soul seventies singer Michael Lizzmore . Standing on 125th street in front of where all it all began after winning 4 weeks in a row @ The Apollo when at the time enclosed in the winners envelop twenty - five dollars how times have change. Strolling down 125 th street he told me about the high and low of the record industry , bad management ; later signed with Capitol Records teaming up with the legendary arranger, composer, songwriter, keyboardist , Horace Ott. "The hit record "Promise" got reviews in the trade magazine , cash box & Record World. After several gigs across the country Lizzmore wasn't getting paid . " I felt Phil Colbert did very little to advance my career." He continued talking about failed management , threaten to be sued if I signed or left . Thus stifling the young artist at that point Lizzmore attempted to break ties with Phil. "I Recorded a song "Never tasted SugarAny Sweeter" , written by Carl Sears, on Indie label called Verdith Records. Produced by Fred Weekes, The President of that label. Later Blasé went out on the road with Archie Bell and The Drells ... So I guess you want to know where all the old soul music has gone. It's still here in living a private life in Forest Hills, Queens. After battling his own crisis with addiction due to as he simply states ..."The vision he had for himself as a solo artist grew blurry. I became disenchanted . My niece was murdered, sister died. I fell into a dark abyss and started to play in the snow (cocaine and crack). Trying to freeze the pain. I almost got buried in an avalanche . " Still standing and overcoming his addition through a strong family love Blase continues writing, singing creating his music. His artistic pot has been simmering with classic goodness of the real deal. Walking up 137th street Harlem which is in full bloom its spring time and everything is reedy to show their colors . We continue our interview on a bench near City College . Currently working on anew beginning ; struggling thru beats and a tight budget. The process of creating for this artist is solitude, plenty of paper and index cards. Perfecting beautiful harmony , the right words to fit the mellowing moves of horns, drums and the tinkle of black and white ivories ... An artistic rhapsody . His vocal horn one, two, three up loop breaks the silence of Harlem hills one stop into the Forest 71st corded truffles drizzling mid air. One would have to stop long enough to Remember poetry blooming bouquet. Blasé is ready to hit the studio . Soul music ring ears resonant Jackie Wilson but still blasé . Coming soon Magazine Article & video interview . Been a long time coming... © 2013 Lepadah

Death Poets by Lepadah
One of mass
spread traffic bankrupting rhyme
forget squandering time
creating crawl lines
forget the glitz
we're coming super tight
like spandex
super hyped explosion
macking mic's
rocking block heads
left blown
cascading over preposition
lost inhibitions
test skills
medicate membranes
baptized deliriously insane
epically furious
deliverance sickly serious
forget the backdrop
delete that shit
fade the band
water the incense
the new scent
smell me...
forget the gloss
poetically embossed
beaming bold italics on strathmore
legitimate drip premium

Per Se by Lepadah
In Other Words by Lepadah
Those piano keys
must be Monk tinkering at the light
awakening the we to early morning rhythms straight no chaser ...
slipping in-between slats
slits of sunshine split venetian blinds criss cross
over our souls new arrangements
abstract, architectural syllabus
Alpha to my Omega
you be the creator to our Pyramids
non other . . . than you lover
discover, uncover the principal
sought to walk away
allowed this love to re-lay
in other words . . .
if only for one day; per se
in other words . . . to convey
we are an air of cliche
so far removed from the rest of the world
flown, blown to celestial skies
"hear our love cries"
"hear our love cries"
sway me away
with trembling tambourines
chiming, echoed births of African spirituals
rocking his tickled ivories, black and white
a micro nucleus burst jollying about
volley inborn; once shaded caliginous
lit by luminous liner notes and current berries
"Alleluia"
"Alleluia." the cry
balm of Gilead
snatching pearls to tempt reaping acquaintance
I yen for you . . . I yen for you
though the feelings are real
all the words that I say
all the words that I say
could not express how I feel . . .
simply ... could not express how I feel
In other words ... We are body & soul

Just thinking about you by Lepadah ... Happy Poetry Month
Just Thinking About You (A Poem)
"I was just thinking about you"
cardinal phrase, a thought
something bought
fresh and oh so brand new
"I was just thinking about you"
the man I call "baby"
erstwhile lapse "daddy"
mid taffeta twinkle
"I love ... " oh no
"I meant ..."
unable to conceal
feelings a peel
"I meant; dig you baby"
"yeah, I dig you baby"
err up under your singing "Happy Feeling"
"huh! now how you go and do that?" he say
"ha, ha, my natured stumbler"
dragoon jaded trinkets
settled wee wrist
"right! ha, ha how you go and do that?" he say
admit the genius
shy ebon Queen
bedtime conversation of revolution
possibly our own
brave hearts fully grown
able vibes for Huey, Cleaver, Bunchy ...
Boondocks and The Roots
carry secret of Orishas
seasoned outer limits
sexually video taped
our escapades; there would be no escape
"you're down; all the way down?"
prepare to go forward
ideas singing new notes
vast voices
"so you said ... you love ... right!"
"now how you go and do that?" he say
indulge one need to appease; please
words that weep ... one unconscious

Miles Davis a splendid piece of art
Mad Head - Part I
The slow glow
from the opaque street light near Bleecker
transfixed
holding gaze
floating to a raunchy head beat
distinct smell of eucalyptus honey
visions of thick drops running down
sides of my Enola's mason jars
extract thoughts of jazz
welcome resurrection
prepare to ride a riff with Trane
along side Dizzy's altering scales of composition spiraling... Simply out of this world!
"I'll never go back to Georgia" licks
(music plays)
crisscross, seducing with his hurricane horn
stopping long enough to hear Moody scat
skedaddle with Pozo melting two
Afro...Cuban
Afro...Cuban
dawned virtuoso "Manteca"
thumping mad Max into memory
instead of memorex
easy flow where my mind go
groove side daddy do good
waited inside Sweet Basil
El Dios of drums
flailing
first click
first hit pop!
full blown litany of sound boiling my blood ...whop!
possessed
unleash the beast to rhythms so loosely abandoned
Splitting invisible half note into quarters
Even the winded pursuit of indistinct change could not rearrange this chain
Standing alone
tight leather
fitted waist
cold,raw, & stiff bone
it's two a.m.
skins are thin
bartender tend glass
spill of warm Hennessy
no ice please
these cats cool
Blakey solo
Dude nitroglycerin
Blistering
ol' buttermilk sky
while I drinking, dragging straw
across pink formica
sniff! last bit of blow
Moment the light blew out... From the storm

Play the 45 Soul by Lepadah ...Happy Poetry Month
"Play the 45 Soul" by Lepadah
Crooning conducting strand
Aspire spirits in bed
arise within sheets
Open day gig for Barnabas
a
stark starestrange sacrifice
During sleep
no recall
Draw lids airy
Somewhere forest in the hills
basement mirrored walls
blue door
black silk beneath bottoms
line of exotic shoes ; snakes, gators
lizards
mohair and his leopard underwear
still crooning "promise that you'll wait"
holding a glass of Muskatel
"it will go down swell'
player roll that old soul on 45
stereophonic sound
Liquor sure do taste good going down
sealed seventies luxuries
so said
Even tried to snuggle the pipe inside a place
she pledge godly
promise another ...
so he promises to wait
this time ...
letting passion sleep
if only for tonight

Celebrating National Poetry month
"maybe this time" by Lepadah
Free these city streets
beneath calloused feet
burden by concrete
sky tower, tenements, speckle pigeons perched
gray gutter rats dwindle from the light
there's something kinda beautiful here
early rise yoke
yellow ball east of China town
off broadway bridge buckling down
The city illusive . . .
no ninjas just chaotic chinese
chopped into Bruce Lee videos winded chimes
continue twinkle ring in dingy take-out
doorway stand nursing a plastic container
rice noodles, baby bok choy
ribbons steam twirl upward
inhale, blow, sip . . .
pabulum dawn soul
leaving here breaks away from insanity
suicide, sexual romper room
maybe this time . . . maybe this time
they'll let love win
between the two them
thru whistle breeze
across the bayou of Antee's youth
made of sugar tea, liquor lemonade and women so free
you'll find the love in your food scenting
she love to taste colors
that of the moon
some blood red
some sunny
some blue; blue as your mood
some black green tornado swirl
pink like tomorrow's promise to you
love the sound of hard pluck
mahogany guitar
biting bits raw honey
off black berry lips
kissing into broken french
conjure up dance
in audubon beds of foxglove flowers
late noon to swinging string
Freeing at hem of pinafore
flirting peek of brown sweet thigh
chasing after the moon
in the Louisiana sky...
maybe this time
maybe this time
she'll let love in
Just maybe ... this time she'll let this love win

Thank you sister Jill for being bloom!!!
As-Salāmu `Alaykum god's people creation of the all supreme one. Do happy to see our Black women standing by our Black men even if we're they're not together they're in it to help raise our black male child and female child as well ! Yippee Thank you sister Jill for your comment yes indeed deed it takes our men with the village to raise our children! Someone redefined apartment for me and yes Dr. Rok informed me the word our residence as single mother's "apartment" meant to be APART ... Yes apart from our men, family etc. the intentional isolation of strong relationships . Years ago we as Blacks would never ever consider placing our elders in a nursing home yikes !!! I know it to be the norm for most but not those of us who hold our elders in high regards no matter how crazy they bother us as we know. "gotta love dem our my peeps" lol . Let our love be our family... Be bless and thank you to sister Jill Scott for being ever bloomed Peace let the love shine inshallah . Lepadah

Upcoming film project on Poet James Lloydovich Patterson
As-Salāmu `Alaykum. Super excited over opportunities and a new prospective on life. About to embark on a full blown project in conjunction with my cousin . Pouring over several letters, articles essays, writings sent to me a product of years two cousins from distant lands. Reading the letters precious jewels to me I held onto for over twenty years knowing in my heart a reunion of our artful souls would unite in a spectacular way. With that said the "Portrait of Soldier" from the pages of history...the Patterson family which lives in Moscow received a letter from Soviet Far East. The letter informed them that this year the Komsomolsk , city authorities have decided to put a memorial plaque honoring Soviet citizen Lloyd Patterson , a soldier/internationalist, on the radio committee where he had worked in 1941-1942. .. His son James a poet and a prose writer. He is a member of the Soviet Writers Union . His latest book titled "The Breath of Larch" is about his African ancestors and his father, a Black American who found happiness in the USSR. The larch is a tree with soft needles which it loses in autumn. It grows in Siberia Far East where James father Lloyd Patterson died of the concussion he suffered in the first months of World War 11. The book's title is symbolic: it tells about the Patterson family tree growing on the Soviet soil. A Hampton University graduate, Lloyd Patterson could not find a job in the USA, it was in the early 1930s, during the Great Depression Black workers were dismissed and last to be employed. Leaving the US along with other Black actors and film specialist invited to the Soviet Union to shoot a film about racial discrimination in Southern American states. Patterson applied for the job, got it and left for the Soviet Union". Thus history is repeating itself with my invitation to Russia an opportunity to unite and celebrate my cousin James Patterson and our family . Working with a Director who along with other writers and people who know the historic story of Poet extraordinaire Jim Patterson . Life is what we make it ... Peace and stay bless inshallah ...the one and only Lepadah
