At the opening of the historic exhibition "Old Harlem/ New Harlem," which is a visual record of a community in transition. This photograph was shot by Ernest Gregory, who is creating a priceless photographic record of Wynton Marsalis ' travels. In this picture is the legendary Harlem photographer Kwane Brath - who along with his brother the graphics artist Elombe sparked the "Black Arts Movement" - the young photographer A. D. Minter, poet Lydia Elizabeth, and writer/cultural critic Playthell Benjamin.
