Hudson River Line

Thoughts on the hudson river line

It is hot
Sunday afternoon
beads of sweat break loose a top my head
I crack a bottle of snapple
grimace
return to the city
with it's problems
it's madness
it's lighted beauty which comes alive at night
Broadway bright
the city where dreamers become a star
on 42nd street
it's sadness
the millions of us stacked on top of one another
you ain't my motherfucking brother
all smothered in our bricked cages
locked up for the night
no square feet to retreat
force other's to sleep in the street
some eat
other's starve
the rats eat
eat well
Camus was right

locked up for the night
no square feet to retreat...'
