eggs scrambled soft
not hard
potatoes earth
not fabricated
women plenty
real with fatties
sex raw ritualistic loose
a dance
picked at the blackberries
pushing them gently to the side
eyes spy
what !
a smile broke across faces
morning ending the night
just like the first kiss
warm
sweet
a tender wink
athirst my Sangomas
healing forest spirits I inherit
subliminal
no exodus
a fugitive I remain lost inside you

A different and unique write. The Zulu word "Sangomas'" (witchdoctors) struck out at me as I speak a bit of it myself.Did you mind me asking where you came across it? Thanks DDD.
lepa,
your poems are always different and intrigue me. They seem to just be saying so much more than what the surface words say; there between the lines and phrases, in the shadows between words.

Hey lepadahxxx*,
I like the rhythm and imagery in this. You make an interesting shift from morning to breakfast and then some forest images. One question: athirst my Sangomas?

Here in Africa as in other parts a combination of the traditional healing and metaphysical can have some devastating results.
